Check for headlamp bulb (13007) burn-out and proper beam switching. 6. Verify that lamp output is well toward normal new lamp value. 7. Bounce the vehicle and allow to settle. Adustment Info in a 95; "...I put the same lens as Silent One in my 95. Mine came complete with all hardware except the 6 retaining clips (3 per side). Take some advice if you decide to go this way.... use the old hardware(adjusting srews/collars) from your factory lights if its not shot. The hardware that came with mine, while all nice, shiny and new, was not quite to spec. In short it was rather...."sloppy", allowing the lens's to jiggle around a fair bit. The other thing about the original hardware is that the end of the Left/Right the adjusting screws are hex headed, like the up/down adjuster....the hardware that came with my new lenses was just threaded all the way down. The factory hardware will take a 4mm open end wrench, so that should you need to adjust the lights left or right at some point in the future, you can do so easily by removing the rubber vanity shield between the rad support and the plastic grille frame and using a 4mm box wrench or (forgive me) a set of pliers instead of having to go throught the pain of removing the lens bezel to use a phillips head screwdriver on the hardware that comes with the clear lenses.Either way you go, when replacing the lenses I would suggest removing the grill frame. Its less painful to replace the lenses this way, but it does take a few extra minutes. Look through miesk5s link...the clips the guy shows are a pain in the arse to remove. And, with the lens in the car, the clips are very hard to get to as well. To remove those clips without destroying them you need to wedge a set of snap ring pliers down a very narrow gap to hold the clips open while pulling/prying on the clip tab with another set of pliers. Very difficult to do in the limited space available when the lenses are in the car. Much less painful to do with the grill frame out as the lens mount to the grill frame. And to remove the grill frame only requires taking out 15 more fasteners than you already have to remove. 5 screws to remove the grill and 10 10mm or 11mm (I forget which off the top of my head) bolts to remove the grill frame. As an added bonus, the grill frame is 'keyed'(locator holes on the frame slide over pins on the rad support) so there is no adjustment necessary when you put it back on...it slides right back into the exact same spot it was in originally. Regardless, if you replace the lenses you still have to remove the bezels whether you take the grill frame out or not... but thats another pain all its own..."

Clips in 92-96; "...The plastic/rubber pieces stay on. There are 3 clips that hold the headlight in. The top 2 are the easiest to get to. To get to the bottom clip, you'll need to remove the whole beazel. To do this, there are 2 nuts that hold the turn signal in place. I believe they are either 10 or 11mm. Take these two nuts off, then the whole beazel with blinkers and side markers will come off, exposing the bottom clip for the headlight through a small hole. A radiator hose pick works well for removing the clips. Then reinstall in reverse order. The plastic pieces you see on the headlight holds the clips..."

Switch Fires, Part Number SW-2103: "...Over the past two years, this office has experienced fires caused by another potential problem in Ford vehicles. The problem exists within the dimmer portion of the headlight switch in Ford vehicles. The light switch involved is a Model SW-2103. These are the pull out type headlight switches usually located in the lower left corner of the front dash of Ford vehicles. The headlight portion of the switch has two pullout positions, the first for parking lights only, and fully out for headlights and parking lights. The shaft of this pull-out light switch can be turned clockwise and counterclockwise which activates a dimmer switch, lowering and raising the intensity of the lighting in the instrument panels respectively. Fully rotating the shaft counterclockwise past a notch activates the interior lights within the vehicles. The potential problem exists within the dimmer portion of this switch. The dimmer mechanism consists of a metallic resistive coil set inside a ceramic disc positioned over the shaft of the switch. The coil is exposed on its front side away from the passenger compartment. The front side of the coil passes across a contact permitting a current to flow through a certain portion of the coil when the switch is pulled our in its first or second positions. The greater amount of coil through which the current is permitted to pass (clockwise most position) creates the greatest resistance and therefore dims the dash lighting to its lowest intensity. The opposite position provides greatest intensity. Through our investigations, we have found that the coil can fail owing to wear and/or possible material defects or damage. A fractured coil can maneuver itself free of the ceramic disc permitting it to come in contact with the metal bracket which mounts and grounds the switch to the vehicle. When this occurs, a current can flow through a portion of the coil creating high temperatures melting the metal material of the coil and possibly igniting surrounding combustibles. This mechanism has been observed in three separate incidents by this office. Two of these resulted in a fire. The mechanism is precipitated by wear and/or defect in the coil mechanism. If the former is true, we expect there will be an increase in fires caused through this mechanism given an increase in service time. To this date the problem appears to be somewhat limited. However, this particular light switch has been utilized in numerous Ford vehicles. Therefore, a small increase in failure rate owing to age and wear could result in a significant increase in fire losses. The SW-2103 Light Switch Assembly discussed above is reportedly installed in the following Ford vehicles: 1986 -1997 F100, F150, F300; 1990-1994 Explorer; 1987-1994 Ranger; 1987-1990 Bronco II; 1992-1997 Aerostar..."
