Angle Correction; "...Driveline correction methods are incorporated into virtually all of Superlift's suspension systems. For example, our rear lift blocks are either tapered or flat, depending on application, to address driveshaft angle. Our replacement springs have a tapered degree shim attached, where applicable, to accomplish the same thing. Rolling the pinion upward also restores some shaft spline contact. Sometimes the blocks' pins / holes are offset to address shaft length issues. More on driveshaft length: Generally, shafts must not be lengthened unless the suspension lift height is over 6". Check out the Installation Notes in your vehicle's section of the online catalog. Unless specifically noted in the product text or installation notes, there is normally no need for replacement or lengthened driveshafts when the lift components are installed properly.."

Build Date Stamp Location in a 96; "...The vehicle build date stamp is a four-digit number representing month and day of manufacture. On Bronco and F-150, F-250, F-350, the vehicle build date is stamped on the front surface of the radiator support on the passenger's side of the vehicle. For example, for a build date of January 24, the vehicle build date stamp reads 0124; for a build date of October 21, the vehicle date stamp reads 1021. Yellow ink is normally used for the date stamp. When the marking surface is painted the body color, the date stamp will be marked in red ink. Units from the Ontario Truck Plant (Code C) will be marked with silver ink..." in 1996 F-150, F-250, F-350, F-Super Duty and Bronco Workshop Manual

Clunk, Driveshaft in a 96; "...could be a few things.. U-joints going out on the driveshaft, slip shaft needs greasing or 3rd member is warn and loose. get under and see if there is any side to side movement with the ujoints on the shaft, there shouldnt be any side movement at all; than grease your slip-joint (search) and go from there...& by ElKabong (Ken, El Kabong); Instead of sliding into the t-case like a car driveshaft would into a trans, a Bronco driveshaft normally is two pieces that slide together. The slipshaft is normally covered by a rubber boot in the middle like in the pic below; When you check the u-joints as Spiked described, park it on a flat spot, block the wheels & put it in neutral. That way the driveshaft will be free to move if the u-joints are bad..."

Yoke Removal Replacement Tools & Tip; "...15 Gallon Air Compressor, found it on sale for 80 bucks at Advance Auto Parts. 1/2" 220 ft/lb impact; Insert the fan wrench under the yoke bolt holes tight up against the casting. Push the ends of the tool so it sits tight against the yoke body. The tools are beefy and 1/4 inch thick. I used a basic 1/2 inch ratchet to hold the steel plate while i pounded it with the impact air tool. It took a long time to break the 32 year old pinion nut off the yoke of my solid axle but it worked like a charm. I would not have been able to do it without air tools. Tap the bottom of the yoke and it will pop right off. Replace the seal or continue on with your tear down.
